The collection consists of a variety of materials donated by the author after her induction into the Georgia Writers Hall of Fame in 2010. It consists of manuscripts, correspondence, posters, and many other materials pertaining to her lengthy career. The bulk of the manuscript material document her fictional works in the children and young adult genres, while also highlighting some non-fiction works and poetry collections. Occasional book cover designs and poetry chapbook layouts are also included with the manuscripts. Also included are materials related to Cofer's professional career as a teacher and author, with correspondence, notebooks and journals.

The collection consists of papers of Phinizy Spalding from 1910-1994. The papers include personal and professional correspondence, lecture materials, student papers, seminar materials, manuscripts, photographs, posters, and ephemera. The materials document Spalding's interests in historic preservation, particularly in Clarke County (Ga.); his tenure as professor of history at the University of Georgia (1966-1991) including information on the Phinizy Lectures; his editorship (1974-1982) of the Georgia Historical Quarterly; as well as information pertaining to publication of his books and articles. The collection also contains information on the Cobbham Historic District, Athens Clarke Heritage Foundation, Lucy Cobb Institute, and the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation. The collection consists of personal and business correspondence, legal papers, writings, letterbooks, and other miscellaneous items. The bulk of this material deals with family lawsuits concerning the estates of Joseph E. Brown (father of Joseph M.) and Julius L. Brown (brother of Joseph M.). Box 1 includes letters written by Joseph M. Brown (1909-1926, mainly drafts and typescripts) Theodore Roosevelt, Hoke Smith,S. V. Sanfor, and Thomas Watson. Also in this box are a few of Brown's writings on military history of the Civil War, as well as his views on labor unions. Box 2 consists of legal documents and correspondence to and from other people, including other Brown family members. Boxes 3 and 4 contain letterbooks of Julius L. Brown and cover the periods 1894-1895 and 1908-1910.

Scope and content The Richard B. Russell Foundation Oral History project documents the origins, evolution, philanthropic activities, and legacy of that foundation as well as its role in the creation of the University of Georgia's Richard B. Russell Library for Political Research and Studies and the construction of the Richard B. Russell Building, Special Collections Libraries. Interview participants include former Russell Foundation chairpersons, long-serving Foundation trustees, and current and former University of Georgia Libraries administrators. The collection documents the narrators' personal and professional ties to the Russell Foundation, experiences working with the organization since its inception in 1970, assessment of the Foundation's past and present philanthropic work, and suggestions for future endeavors.

The collection consists of papers of the Rev. Charles Colcock Jones family of Liberty County, Georgia from ca. 1749-1909. The early letters (1850-1861) are between Charles Colcock Jones and Mary Jones in Liberty County, Georgia and their son, Charles Jr., while at school in Princeton and Harvard and later in Savannah (Ga.) where he set up his law practice. The letters discuss social and family life, plantation life, politics and government, religious philosophies, and events leading up to the Civil War. From 1861-1865, Charles Jr.'s letters chronicle his involvement as an officer in the Chatham Artillery stationed along the Georgia coast near Savannah, then Charleston and James Island (S.C.), and Jacksonville (Fla.). After the war, the personal correspondence is mainly between Charles Jr., his mother Mary Jones, his wife Eva Eve Jones, and his brother Joseph Jones. There is also a smattering of correspondence regarding his law practice. The collection also contains two volumes of letters Eva Eve Jones wrote to family describing her travels through Europe in 1879, manuscripts of Charles Jr.'s writings on Georgia history, Charles Jr.'s speeches including an 1861 speech to the Chatham Artillery, and addresses (1886-1892) he gave before the Confederate Survivors Association. Also included is a copy of the original manuscript for William Bartram's book Observations on the Creek and Cherokee Indians attributed to Ephraim G. Sqier (1821-1888). The manuscript contains tracings of Bartram's drawing of prehistoric mounds, Creek towns, and Cherokee and Creek structures not found in the published work.
